The movement, which started Sept. 17 with a few dozen demonstrators who tried to pitch tents in front of the New York Stock Exchange, has spread to cities around the world.
Occupy Wall Street protests go global - The Washington Post
Somehow, very naively, I thought the protest of the 99% versus the 1% had started with the Arab revolutions last winter, followed by Spain, Portugal, Greece, France, Italy, the UK… and THEN on “Sept. 17 few dozen demonstrators tried to pitch tents in front of the NYSE”.
I’m sure the spanish “indignados” who started their movement last spring/summer in Madrid, and who led our march yesterday in Brussels would be amazed to learn that it all started on Sept. 17 in NYC.
History and chronology are funny concepts, even in 2011.
